These Recruiter Terms and Conditions supplement the general describe.me Terms and Conditions. By completing the company verification process, you agree to be bound by both the general Terms and these additional recruiter-specific terms.
1. Company Verification and Representation
- You must provide accurate information about your company and role
- You agree to undergo company verification processes as required
- We may perform a company credit check as part of verification
- You represent that you have authority to recruit on behalf of your stated organization
- You must promptly notify describe.me of any change to your employment status or authority to recruit
2. Candidate Search and Data Handling
- You agree to use candidate data solely for legitimate recruitment purposes
- You must not download, store, or use candidate data outside of our platform without explicit consent
- You agree to treat all candidate information as confidential and handle it according to data protection laws
- Candidate data obtained through the platform must not be shared with third parties without authorisation
3. describe.me Attribution Requirement
- When contacting any candidate through or as a result of describe.me, you must clearly mention that you found their profile through describe.me
- This attribution must be included in your initial contact message or email
- Failure to provide proper attribution may result in account suspension
4. Search Outcome Reporting
- You agree to update the status of your recruitment searches and candidate interactions within the platform
- You must report hiring outcomes, interview completions, and rejection decisions to help us track platform effectiveness
- You understand that outcome data helps improve our matching algorithms and service quality
5. Professional Communication Standards
- All communications with candidates must be professional, respectful, and relevant to legitimate job opportunities
- You must not send generic, mass, or spam messages to candidates
- You must personalise communications based on the candidate's specific profile and qualifications
- Maximum of 10 candidate contacts per day without platform approval
6. Pricing and Billing
- Prices for Unlocks (the action of unlocking a candidate's contact details) will be as advertised on the platform at the time of purchase, or as otherwise agreed or communicated between describe.me and your company
- VAT at the prevailing UK rate is applied to all charges
- Billing is monthly in arrears; invoices are generated on the 1st of each month for previous month's usage
- Payment terms are 7 days from invoice date, collected automatically via your saved payment method
- A valid payment method must be on file before Unlocks can be made
7. Unlock Terms
- Each Unlock grants access to the candidate's contact details and CV
- Once a candidate has been unlocked by your company, their details remain available to all recruiters at your company at no additional cost for as long as the candidate's profile remains on describe.me
- If a candidate deletes their describe.me account, their data is removed in line with their data protection rights and access ends; previously charged Unlocks are not refunded
- Candidates who were referred to describe.me by a recruiter at your company are always freely contactable by your company at no charge
- Unlocks are final and non-refundable once processed
- Preview the cost before unlocking; credits are applied automatically
8. Referral Programme
8.1 Overview
- Verified recruiters receive a unique referral code to share with professionals
- When a referred professional signs up and completes their profile to 100%, your company earns credit
- Referred professionals are always freely contactable by your company
8.2 Credit Awards
- Credit is awarded per successfully completed referral at the rate communicated at the time of referral code issuance (currently GBP 10 per completed profile)
- Credits are awarded to your company account and shared by all company recruiters
- Credits are processed and awarded at month end via automated processing
- There is no limit on the number of referrals you can make
- Credit awarded per company is capped at GBP 250 per calendar month
- The cap resets at the start of each calendar month; any referrals that exceed the monthly cap do not carry forward and are not credited in subsequent months
- Credits expire 90 days from the date of award
- Oldest credits (closest to expiry) are used first
8.3 Referral Eligibility
- Referrals must be genuine professionals (not fake or duplicate accounts)
- The referred professional must sign up using your referral code and complete their profile to 100%
- Creating fake accounts to earn credits will result in account suspension and credit forfeiture
8.4 Prohibited Referral Activities
- Creating fake accounts to earn credits
- Spamming or unsolicited bulk referral code sharing
- Using the referral programme in violation of anti-spam laws
- Any fraudulent activity results in credit forfeiture and possible termination
9. Credit System
- Credits may be provided upon company verification at describe.me's discretion
- Credits are applied automatically to Unlocks before charging your payment method
- Credits are non-refundable and non-transferable
- Credits have no cash value and cannot be exchanged
- View your credit balance and expiry dates in the billing dashboard
- describe.me reserves the right to modify or discontinue credit programmes with 30 days' notice
10. Disputes
- Billing disputes must be raised within 7 days of invoice
- Referral credit disputes must be raised within 30 days
- Contact hello@describe.me for assistance
- Provide specific details and supporting evidence
11. Changes to These Terms
- We reserve the right to modify these terms
- Users will be notified of material changes via email
- Continued use constitutes acceptance
- Changes to referral credit amounts or caps will be communicated 30 days in advance
